Day 3 was our first port of call at the beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico. We had never been there before this cruise, so we decided to do a whale watching excursion since it was a good time of year for the whales. In the beginning, I was not so sure that it was going to be any good, but toward the end of the excursion, we had some fantastic sights!! There were two great sights to see on this tour. The first of those sights we saw before even heading out to sea for the whales. This site was the Arch of Cabo San Lucas. It stands about three stories tall and naturally eroded over centuries.

Day 2 was a sea day as we headed south to Cabo San Lucas, Baja Mexico. Since we had nothing scheduled at all during the day, we woke up whenever we felt like waking up, which was still in time to get breakfast from the Lido deck. The pool water was still quite chilly, so we stayed out of the pool for another day and decided to enjoy the beautiful day wandering around the ship. Toward the end of the day, just before going to dinner, I looked at the sky and had a feeling that the sunset would be incredible. I decided to go to one of the open decks to get some photos. My gut feeling turned out to be completely accurate, and my reward was a breathtaking sunset! Just take a look at it in these photos!

After having an exhilarating night of seeing The Rock, we woke up to a beautiful morning. Just take a look at this picture I took before we walked to the port area. We could not have asked for a more beautiful January day to start an incredible cruise.

I recently realized something over this holiday season. Every year for the past five years, I have been in a different place for Christmas. I spent these five Christmases in three different countries and one in no country. No country sounds a bit weird, but it will make sense if you keep reading below.

I should mention that before I flew out to Australia, I booked a few different tours. The first one I booked was an Intro to Australia Tour for my first nine days in Australia. This tour included accommodation, activities, and multiple meals. I spent the first day and night with my friend then the next nine days were spent on this tour.

Now that I have finished my first year in Australia, I want to start a series talking about my experiences. I want to cover everything from the flights leaving the USA to the end of my first year. A Long Overdue Trip

It has taken me way too long to take this trip, but I finally made it happen! When I booked my packages for Australia, I made sure to have an outback package included. I honestly didn’t spend much time researching the different options, but it has turned out well anyway! So I may have mentioned before that I booked a lot of tours through Realgap as a large package. I used all of my tour vouchers in the first six months in Australia except for this outback trip. I finally scheduled this last tour for the end of October, one year, and one month after my arrival in Australia.

I have been working at a hostel in Cairns for nearly six months now. The main reason for this job was to complete the work required to stay for a second year.
