Panama Canal Cruise Day 2
Day 2 was a sea day as we headed south to Cabo San Lucas, Baja Mexico. Since we had nothing scheduled at all during the day, we woke up whenever we felt like waking up, which was still in time to get breakfast from the Lido deck. The pool water was still quite chilly, so we stayed out of the pool for another day and decided to enjoy the beautiful day wandering around the ship. Toward the end of the day, just before going to dinner, I looked at the sky and had a feeling that the sunset would be incredible. I decided to go to one of the open decks to get some photos. My gut feeling turned out to be completely accurate, and my reward was a breathtaking sunset! Just take a look at it in these photos!
After watching the sunset, I had to get ready to head to dinner quickly. Dinner was as good as always, and then we went down for the show. Every night on the cruise they have a big show. On the short cruises, it is usually the same type of show with lots of dancing and singing, but the shows are always different on different ships. On a more extended cruise like this cruise, they also have some additional shows such as acts including hypnotism, comedic juggling, and singing. These shows are always enjoyable to watch, and it is incredible how much talent all of the performers have.
Getting a taste of the nightlife for the cruise
After the show, we decided to go to the Piano Bar, where a lovely Irish girl was playing the piano. She has a beautiful voice, and we enjoyed spending time listening and singing along with her. If you would like to look her up, her name is Rebecca Harkin, and this is her Facebook page. We enjoyed her so much that we even decided to surprise her on another cruise in April 2018. Her reaction when she saw us on that cruise was utterly priceless!
We also ended up getting some drinks at the alchemy bar that evening. Alchemy quickly became our favorite bar during the voyage, and part of that was due to the crew working behind the bar. I will talk more about them on a future day’s post. For now, check out the next post about our day in Cabo San Lucas. It was a whale of a time!
