Panama Canal Cruise Day 14
Day 14 was the last full day of the cruise and a sea day. We spent most of the day a lot like the other sea days, poolside for the activities and to relax. During the afternoon before dinner, they had a party for platinum and diamond loyalty members onboard. To reach platinum, guests need to accrue 75 cruise days with Carnival Cruise Lines, whereas diamond requires 200 cruise days. See some of the benefits here.
Most shorter cruises only have a handful of people that can attend the Platinum and Diamond Party. Since this was a longer cruise, it had a much larger amount of platinum and diamond onboard. There were actually so many onboard that they had to split the party into two parties to fit everyone. During the party, they hand out free drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Since we became friends with some of the bartenders, we had a nearly unlimited supply of drinks coming to us while the party lasted.

After the party, we headed off to enjoy our last dinner on board. As usual, dinner was terrific, and at the end of dinner, the waiters sang us a farewell song. The song is always the same, but it is still fun to listen to on each cruise. After dinner, we went to the Alchemy Bar for one last night of drinks with our favorite bartenders. Late that evening, the crew had one more surprise. They held a little party in the atrium to celebrate moving the ship to a new homeport. That was my first time experiencing that during a cruise, so it was neat to do.
